Painted Silk Tealight Holder

These glass votive holders are covered with the beautiful translucent shades of hand dyed raw Chinese silk (see the image of two of my boxes of dyed silk). After the silk is dyed I pull out bits and pieces and apply them to the glass with an acrylic medium which is made specifically for fiber/fabric that will preserve the color. Each piece has a very fine gold thread that wanders through it. Then they are sealed with two coats of clear acrylic.

Each of these is completely unique, so you are guaranteed to receive an original piece of art.
